Beginner Class at Fort Bend Martial ArtsFort Bend Martial Arts Academy offers the highest quality instruction by Master Daniel Elkowitz.  The Beginners program is geared for first-time Taekwondo students between the ages of 7 and 13 years of age.

Belt testing is done on a quarterly basis.  However, all students progress according to their own individual rate of achievement.  There is no set timeline that a student must achieve.  Beginner Tae Kwon Do class at Fort Bend Martial Arts AcademyIf they need more time to learn the curriculum, we take the time to make them feel comfortable before progressing to the next step.  Achieving the next belt is very important to the young Taekwondo student.  Parents will notice that their child's self-esteem will grow as they earn the next color belt.  Along with this belt advancement, the young martial arts student will develop improved technical Taekwondo skills, greater confidence in themselves as it relates to life outside of Taekwondo and enhanced physical fitness.

At Fort Bend Martial Arts Academy, Taekwondo is much more than just kicking, punching and self-defense.  While these skills are an integral part of the curriculum, Taekwondo is also about the personal growth of a child.  The young students are taught the five tenets of Taekwondo: COURTESY; INTEGRITY; PERSEVERANCE; SELF CONTROL; AND INDOMITABLE SPIRIT.

Our curriculum is designed to teach the young students the following:

  • To improve your child's confidence and self-esteem.
  • To teach the child how to show discipline and respect to others.
  • Improve the child's focus and concentration.
  • To teach life skills such as good manners, positive attitude and good habits.
  • To teach your child how to defend themselves and deal with strangers.
  • They learn physical fitness drills and exercises to stay fit.
